CRYOGENIC GLOBE
Globe valves are a type of a linear motion valves. They're used to start, stop, and modulate the flow of fluids in a pipeline.
As the name suggests, globe valves are usually spherical, and are separated in two parts. One globe valve generally consists of a movable disc plus a stagnant ring seat. The movable disc is screwed into the ring seat to close the valve. The disc is connected to a stem and is then lowered or raised with the help of a handle. The movement of the disc varies according to the opening of the ring seat. When the disc is fully down, the fluid flow is completely shut. When the disc is fully up, the flow of fluid is at its greatest.
Globe valves are extensively used to control fluid flow and are most commonly utilized in smaller size piping.
